About

Fullstack? Yes. But frontend is where I do my best work.

I'm Ufuoma Oboraruvwe, known online as James — a frontend-focused Fullstack Developer who builds digital products that solve real problems. I've spent over 4 years working across web and mobile development, building products with React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, Redux, React Native, Node.js and Django.

I enjoy turning ideas, designs and business requirements into interfaces that are fast, responsive, intuitive and actually enjoyable to use. But I also understand what happens behind the interface, which means I can work across the stack and build products from the frontend to the backend.

For me, writing code is only part of the job. I care about the problem we're solving, the people using the product, and the business behind it.

Whether it's a landing page, a SaaS product, a mobile application or a full-scale web platform, my goal is simple: build something that works, looks good and creates real value. I'm constantly learning, experimenting and pushing myself to become a better developer and a better problem solver.

How I work

Not just code — products that work.

I care about more than making an application function. I think about the people using it, the problem it solves, and how the technology can help the product achieve its goals.

01

Understand the problem

Before writing code, I take time to understand the product, its users, and what we're trying to achieve. Good development starts with understanding the problem, not jumping straight into a solution.

02

Design & build the experience

I turn ideas and designs into responsive, intuitive and scalable web and mobile experiences. I'm strongest on the frontend, but my full-stack experience allows me to understand and build across the entire product.

03

Ship, improve, repeat

I believe the first version doesn't have to be perfect — it needs to work. I ship, test, learn from real users, and continuously improve the product's performance, usability and overall experience.

Principles

Ideas I keep coming back to.

01 Principle

The interface matters.

A product can have great functionality and still feel terrible to use. I care about the details — spacing, responsiveness, animations, interactions, performance and accessibility — because the frontend is often where users experience the product first.

02 Principle

Build, ship, learn.

I'd rather get a good solution into users' hands and improve it than spend months trying to make the first version perfect. Build with purpose, learn from feedback, and keep improving.

03 Principle

Keep it simple.

Good code shouldn't be complicated just to look impressive. I prefer clean, reusable, maintainable solutions that solve the problem without creating unnecessary technical debt.

04 Principle

Technology serves the product.

I enjoy exploring new technologies, but I don't use them simply because they're new. Whether it's React, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, Django or something I'm learning for the first time, the technology should always support the product, the user and the problem we're trying to solve.
